Ozone is a powerful oxidant. Do not operate, install, modify, service, or apply an ozone system without following applicable equipment instructions, the site-specific operating plan, safety controls, and legal requirements. Improper ozone exposure or misuse can injure people, animals, plants, materials, or property.

1. Qualified design, installation, and service
System selection, sizing, installation, programming, startup, validation, repair, and modification should be performed or approved by personnel qualified for the specific equipment and application. Do not bypass alarms, interlocks, destruct units, ventilation, monitors, flow controls, pressure controls, contact systems, or other safeguards. Unauthorized changes may create unsafe conditions, reduce performance, and affect available warranty or service rights.
2. Ozone exposure and occupied spaces
Direct ozone exposure must be controlled. Follow applicable occupational, environmental, building, fire, food-safety, drinking-water, pool, spa, and public-health requirements. Use appropriate monitoring, ventilation, containment, off-gas destruction, signage, access control, shutdown procedures, and re-entry protocols. Never rely on odor as the only exposure warning. People and animals must not enter a treated or restricted area until the applicable procedure confirms safe conditions.
If an exposure, leak, alarm, or unsafe condition is suspected, stop the equipment when safe, leave or isolate the area, follow the site emergency plan, and contact appropriate emergency or safety personnel.
3. Water-treatment applications
Ozone treatment of irrigation, process, livestock, pool, spa, potable, wastewater, or other water requires application-specific engineering and verification. Performance depends on water chemistry, temperature, pH, turbidity, oxidant demand, organic load, flow, pressure, ozone concentration, mass transfer, contact time, residual control, system cleanliness, and monitoring. Water intended for drinking, food contact, public recreation, discharge, reuse, livestock, or regulated processing must meet every applicable standard independently of any statement on this website.
4. Agriculture and biological systems
Agricultural information is educational and recommendation-based. Crop, soil, water, livestock, greenhouse, hydroponic, and aquaponic responses vary by site and management. Recommendations should be checked against current soil, tissue, water, biological, and operational data and adjusted through qualified agronomic or technical review. Do not make abrupt changes to irrigation, fertility, sanitation, animal care, or crop-protection practices solely from general website information.
5. Processing and sanitation
Ozone does not replace required sanitation plans, hazard analyses, preventive controls, standard operating procedures, inspections, testing, documentation, or regulatory compliance. Each dairy, produce, meat, fish, food, and commercial facility must validate its process for the actual organism, product, surface, water, load, temperature, concentration, contact time, and operating conditions. A result from one facility or test does not establish an approved process for another facility.
6. Pools, spas, and aquatic facilities
Residential and commercial aquatic systems must comply with applicable codes and manufacturer requirements. Ozone may be one component of a treatment program and does not automatically replace required disinfectant residuals, circulation, filtration, testing, supervision, recordkeeping, or public-health controls. Commercial and public facilities require site-specific professional design and regulatory review.
7. Health and medical disclaimer
Website content is not medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. O3 Science does not authorize breathing ozone or using equipment inconsistently with applicable instructions and law. Anyone with a health concern or possible exposure should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional or appropriate emergency service.
8. Material and equipment compatibility
Ozone can degrade or react with certain elastomers, plastics, metals, coatings, chemicals, fuels, oils, organic materials, and process constituents. Compatibility must be evaluated for the actual concentration, temperature, pressure, moisture, duration, and environment. Protect incompatible materials and inspect components on the required maintenance schedule.
9. Performance-based technology and case results
All ozone systems are not created equal. Performance depends on the complete system—including ozone generation, gas preparation, conditioning, transfer, contact, mixing, control, monitoring, application, maintenance, and verification. O3 Science case studies and laboratory results apply only to the documented equipment, method, conditions, concentration, contact time, medium, organism or contaminant, and verification procedure.
Past results, examples, projections, water-reduction guidance, yield changes, quality measurements, return-on-investment targets, and estimated operating savings are not guarantees of future or universal performance. Site conditions and management decisions can materially change outcomes.
10. Verification and regulatory compliance
Users are responsible for identifying and meeting applicable laws, permits, codes, licenses, standards, labels, reporting duties, workplace rules, and industry requirements. Performance or safety claims should be verified with calibrated instruments, appropriate sampling, documented methods, and qualified laboratories or professionals when required. O3 AG Insight or another qualified testing provider may be used to confirm relevant field or material values.
11. Warranty and service agreements
Any warranty, service commitment, performance obligation, remedy, or limitation is governed by the written agreement applicable to the specific product or service. General website content does not create or extend a warranty, service period, certification, performance guarantee, or contractual obligation.
12. Educational and certification materials
Course completion or an O3 Science designation demonstrates completion of the stated program requirements; it does not by itself create government licensure, academic accreditation, a professional license, or authorization to perform regulated work. Students and professionals remain responsible for applicable licenses, supervision, insurance, continuing education, and legal requirements.
